Awa in Quechua (The native language of the Incas) means fabric, weave or knitted. This unique blend of baby alpaca, Merino wool, and Pima cotton has an exceptional and different look. It represents the thriving weaving and knitting traditions in Peru dating back to pre-Inca times until modernity. The color chart of Awa finds its inspiration in the vibrant colors of the traditional Peruvian textiles.
Hand-dyed yarns have subtle variations that cause colors to vary from skein to skein. As this is a natural part of the process, please note there may be differences between the yarn images shown and the yarn received. Therefore, we encourage buying enough yarn for the entire project at the same time. You can always call the shop for color verification.
